5. Prime only has value to me because I order a lot of small stuff from Amazon.

I worked out one year that I was spending about $60 a year on Amazon standard shipping, and I'd passed on more than one Amazon purchase because the price no longer made sense once the shipping costs were factored in. Paying an extra $19 a year for shipping to update to 2-Day made sense, especially as I didn't have to worry about shipping costs on those marginal items anymore.

I really doubt that the math would work out as well if it were $40 more expensive.

And I NEVER use the video stuff. Hulu Plus has all of the TV programming that I need (and it works across more devices), and I have no interest in watching old movies.
