The Straight Story

I look at crime stories as just that, crime.

When I do post them do folks swoop in to discuss the gender of the person or the crime?

There are over 45 million gun owners in the US who don't do anything wrong with them daily, but ya know what - the news only talks about the ones that do. It is 'news' because it is not what people do on a regular basis.

And since women, as you noted, are not the ones who most often commit crimes the same idea applies - we don't expect it therefore it is news.

How many times have I said on here about gun threads we should not judge all by the few?

Many times.

I feel the same with crime stories: White, black, male, female, muslim, chrisitian, etc - judge the story and the person on their action not on their gender.

Some here apparently think that progressives WILL judge based on gender and don't want stories of women doing bad things posted.

Maybe because that is how they themselves judge things.
