I just want to go on record to say Paypal sucks

of the others, I've never had a problem with Paypal in the 14 years I've been using it.


I know it's a major pain and inconvenience, but it's also their responsibility to ensure everyone's safety. Unfortunately, since you're in China, they're probably going to be somewhat suspicious.

Something odd happened to Mr Pipi about two months ago involving transactions with China. He had bought some relatively inexpensive item from China, and it arrived broken. When he contacted the vendor about replacement, they said no problem, they would just credit his bank account for the pittance it cost him. Less than $4.00 I think.

Well, his bank got suspicious and, figuring it might be some sort of bank account hacking, froze the account. Which sucked big time because it also meant that his pension checks were being rejected. Nothing could go in or come out until he verified the transaction.

What sucked even more was that, even though the bank is local, and could have called or sent him a message through the online message system, no....they sent him a letter, which took a WEEK, which meant that he was perilously close to having a bunch of overdrafts from like the day before this all started.

So, yeah...unfortunately, financial institutions see particular countries, like China or Russia, and a red flag pops up.
