from me because when I tried to give choosing the credit card line link instead of the paypal link, it wouldn't accept my card because it didn't "recognize" it.

I'm thinking the credit card link was really a paypal link, and it didn't "recognize" my credit card because it is not the one that I used when I setup a paypal account many years ago. I haven't updated the paypal account for years because it was a pain in the ass -- I would update my credit card on it, and it would randomly revert to an expired card and cause problems. I got tired of having to re-update my credit card info, so gave it up.
