Imagine the logistics involved in what you're thinking. A building-to-building, house-to-house, room-to-room, vehicle-to-vehicle search would be necessary in order to confiscate all guns.

In my wildest imagination I cannot see that or anything approaching it come to pass. It would surely lead to civil war IMO. And, in a country where the government has guns and the citizens do not, the FEMA camps built by Halliburton that everyone was so freaked out about recently could actually exist and be used.
