Since the enactment of the law, claims of justifiable homicide tripled in Florida, according to state data. Its almost insane what we are having to deal with, Willie Meggs, the state attorney in Tallahassee, declared this week. Self-defense is being invoked in everything from gang shootings to backyard disputes between neighbors, with prosecutors left to disprove the shooters claims.
this article is just fluff with no substance
tripled from what to what... 1 to 3 or 1000 to 3000... what has the murder rate done during this same time... how many & what percent of those claiming self-defense stand up and how many get charged? Either the reporter knew these number and decided not to used them or they are a incompetent reporter and should stick to obituaries...
