(106,216 posts)The family could have moved to Austria, and home-schooled, without any 'asylum' seeking - a German-speaking country next door. They could have moved to the UK, or several other EU countries, and home-schooled, if they wanted. But instead they moved to the USA so they could hook up with Michael Farris, founder of the Christian extremist Patrick Henry College, and be used by him for publicity. Just search DU for what he's been involved in - blocking ratification of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and much more:
