(8 posts)Sweden does not use the socialist or communist economic model. In Sweden, you can start your own private business. In fact, their corporate tax rates are lower than in the United States. There is no forced worker controlled means of production or State-owned means of production for private businesses. The State does not go around seizing businesses and setting price controls below profit margins in places such in Venezuela, with the ruling Socialist Party.
The truth is that socialism and communism have repeatedly failed in history. They are unable to create wealth. They inhibit entrepreneurship. You can rail against the profit motive as much as you want but without a profit motive many people are not going to risk starting new businesses, create new products, or invent innovations.
The sooner left ditches the rally cries of "DOWN WITH CAPITALISM" the better. It's really alienating a lot of people who understand or witness the failures of socialism and communism. A well-regulated, fair free market economy creates the most wealth and prosperity for the majority of people.
