#3 : I walked up the hill to look at the new Dolores Park playground. It's a tropical island and pretty cool. But my daughter is right, there's no longer nooks there for kids to create their own "forts". I met a couple half my age who were with #MikeTaksaWalk

#4 : Hung out with my daughter at the Lucky 13 for a cocktail. Then we went to dinner; and afterwards to our favorite used book store, Aardvark, where I bought my new copy of Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close . My daughter won't give me back my copy because she says her tears all over it and wants to keep those tears extremely loud and incredibly close. When we left the book store, I told her about #MikeTaksaWalk and we walked to Duboce Park. She wanted to see the destroyed playground. We found a labyrinth. That was cool. We walked it with our feet and traced it with our fingers. And then wae went down the hill and swang on swings on the other destroyed (but rebuilt) playground. And then we meandered on home down the prettiest few blocks of San Francisco where she climbed a tree and stoped now and again to sit on the benches to chat. We came home and played music for each other and read passages for each other from Jonathan Safran Foer's writings.

#5 : By myself again and I was thinking about why I so love Spain. People just walk about and hang about. There are public squares everywhere. You can take your food, you can take your drink, you can take your family, you can take your book, and just be.
