And I just got done perusing the yokels at Free Republic.

The money spent at NASA is literally responsible for much of the high tech and economic prosperity we enjoy today.

It was the best investment we ever had by generating $7 in value for every $1 we invested. It's not that expensive either- Just .5% of the federal budget would fully fund all of NASA's projects.

We had a fully functional heavy booster prototype to ensure we could maintain our independence in the space race.

But the administration decided it would be better to scrap the Aries rocket and instead pay the Russians $71 million dollars per astronaut we send to space.

All because the particular county NASA resides in isn't a Dem stronghold.

Or maybe the Wallstreet money wasn't enough and he needed private space money, too (which is cool but shouldn't diminish government investment in space).

I'm just hoping we can get a Dem in who values American industry and exploration in the long term for 2016.
