I raise the issue about standards because it is maddening, things like emissions. Chrysler took tje Mexican government all the way to the Mexican Supreme Court when they were finally required to put emission controls for internal consumption models. Never mind they were installing them on the ones going to California. (So did GM and Ford).
VW had them standard, since it was cheaper to just keep the line in Puebla running than stopping to change that (plus they were mandated in Europe).
At times I think the quarterly profit/ loss sheet has taken over everything we do.
I hope the Golf comes to the US soon. We really need to do something about climate change, at times it feels we are giving lip service and that's it.
