They have LONG given up the pretense of trying to portray some sort of justification though their "principles" and have gone all in on engendering the innate greed and selfishness in people.

Being republican is a pretty darn good gig, you can do and say anything and it is OK cause there is the evil liberal to blame for everything.

The foundation of the party is affirming the rejection of any personal responsibility.

I have given up.

I know SO many truly kind, giving and decent people who are 100 percent strident republican's.

The government, for no good reason got involved in getting mortgages and it is so hard now because of the government.
Obamacare this, Obamacare that.

I hear this stuff daily, and most people know my politics and know I think they are nuts about this stuff, but because I accept them for who they are don't try to tell them otherwise, they respect me about it.

You can't convince them otherwise, they just won't believe otherwise, and all you do is lose friends and relationships.

I tried fighting it, but ... It can't be won, it is simply bigger than me/us.
