5. I have not found them painful to get.

However, I have had pain later. My upper arm was quite sore for a couple of days.

The discomfort is worth it. Ask the doctor what to expect, and if you have a really bad reaction, go back for medical attention. Tetanus shots are common, and side effects are rare.
