My understanding is that it is still a once a decade shot.
Just about everyone has had at least one DPT shot as a child. The T is the tetanus. Tetanus, should you have the horrible misfortune to get it, is called lockjaw, and it's my understanding that the main source would be a cut from a rusty nail or the equivalent.
A dog bite you need to be more worried about rabies. But even if you have to get rabies shots, they are not the horror they originally were. Not particularly painful (we all have different pain thresholds) and not in the stomach and not once a day for thirty days.
I had a DPT about five years ago. The nurse giving it warned me of possible arm soreness which never happened in my case.

No. Myalgia is a potential side effect of tetanus. I've just never had a patient

nah it's nothing. maybe it'll be a little sore for a while but not bad at all.

You should always have a tetanus shot in effect anyway, at least every 10 years.
