In reply to the discussion: The Bible...we can quote it, too. [View all]Spazito
(55,352 posts)I most certainly do. Do you know the Book of Genesis, the Book of Exodus, both of which precede the Book of Leviticus and are of the Old Testament. Do you negate those Books as you do the Book of Leviticus as not being the word of God or is it only the Book of Leviticus you renounce?
Do you renounce all Books of the Old Testament that are also included in the Torah as being false? If not all, which ones?
Not that this proves anything but here is your answer re Old Testament and the New Testament:
Old Testament contains 45 Books broken down into 21 historical, 7 doctrinal and 17 prophetic. (The Book of Jeremias and Lamentations are counted as one). The Old Testament is 'before the birth of Christ'
New Testament contains 27 Books broken down into 5 historical, 21 doctrinal and 1 prophetic. The New Testament was written after the birth of Christ with the first Book being The Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ According to St. Matthew which is classified as one of the historical books.
The Holy Trinity = The Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost and is notated by making the sign of the Cross upon one's body.
Edited to say: the bottom line is citing direct quotes from the Bible is not nor should it be seen as an insult to true Christians. It is simply stating that which is written.
