(895 posts)That's an Israelite quote, although it was dictated to Moses by God, so in the end it's a God quote. The term Jew wasn't used until later, when a bunch of horrible stuff happened to the Israelites.
Jesus also claimed not to want to change that very law, but to see it actualized. Matthew 5:17 states, "Think not that I am come to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill." By the way, quoting a book you carry into church to praise God isn't making fun of the group who carry the book. So you should probably re-word what your frustration really is or look into what it actually happens to be about.
