And I am all for all gun sales being only to people who can pass a stringent background check, I would be ok with a realistic way to register all guns, I would also be ok with training classes that had requirements steep enough to winnow out the dangerous ones, but need a realistic line drawn on that...
They have instant background checks available, they are used here in Oregon, if I want to sell a gun privately I take the time to have it done...

Some of the best friends of the gun and ammo companies are right here spouting their stuff about banning all guns, they idiots on the right see that stuff and decide ,"hey they want my guns better go buy some more.

When someone started the rumor when Obama got in that he was going to take guns, or ban semi-auto guns they ran out an bought all the ruger 10-22's they could find that drove the price of those guns right straight up then since they had all those 22's they needed ammo, now you cannot buy 22 ammo hardly at all, it is sold out as soon as the stores get any in.. Who do you suppose profited the most out of that rumor?

The driving force behind all of that is unnecessary fear and idiocy but money is being made hand over fist by someone.
