10. I've also read good things about Fords recently and at least they still make them

They don't make cars like they used to, and they've eliminated so many, like Pontiacs. I thought I was safe getting one, but I do worry since it's a 2001. *sigh*

It seems like there are major defects in many new models, and not only GM. I'm hoping that my Pontiac lasts long enough for the price to go down on Teslas, LOL. I read recently that they're aiming for less expensive ones in four years...

Good luck with your repairs, not the first time I've heard about these kinds of problems. I get a lot of my car news on http://www.gasbuddy.com/. Have been reading more carefully lately, with all the recalls.
