The reason health insurance has become so expensive is that everyone wants everything covered. Medical insurance should just cover expenses that people don't ordinarily have the money for. Should medical insurance cover bandages? Does homeowners insurance cover a simple plumbing repair? No. Does auto insurance cover when your battery dies? No. Both of those types of insurance have reasonable costs compared with health insurance. There is a reason for that.
