He created a character that appeals to a large audience and makes damn good money doing it. I bet years ago he would have never imagined acting the way he is now. Maybe his politics is even part of the act. Idk I'm not really a fan I prefer Carlin, Kat Williams, Chistopher Titus, and Robin Williams to name a few.
