(65,178 posts)86. Congress created this monster and they will have to kill it. The Congress
didn't trust the American People so they trashed the 4th Amendment and decided to spy on everyone, they didn't trust the Geneva Conventions and raise a stink when Cheney/Bush promoted the use of torture, they didn't trust the judiciary or rule of law when it came to prisoners of war.
They thought we as a nation should be governed by the jungle, so they decided to ride a tiger, it's not so to easy getting off.

There was a young lady of Niger
Who smiled as she rode on a tiger;
They returned from the ride
With the lady inside,
And the smile on the face of the tiger.
