15. To those who say 'it's not a war' I would say

fine, call it what you wish. But there is pervasive racism in our society, as reflected by the disproportionate percentage of minorities in prison. Our country has an enormously high percentage of its population incarcerated, as compared with other countries.

We must address this in ways that are advantageous to all of us. It's a massive drain on resources to lock people up and spend all that tax money trying to forget about them. There's so much more one can say if one takes a hard look at things.

This dialogue does not end with a disagreement over a term. In fact, it should just be starting. And it should go on and on and on. Every one of us should be talking about this with friends. Online. To our representatives.
