In reply to the discussion: At long last, my familiy's and my 10 month unemployment nightmare is over! [View all]DisgustipatedinCA

I was out of work for 7 months. And the whole time, I felt like I had completely failed at my primary purpose in life--to provide for my family. They were very good about it, of course, and I learned to nod assent to the encouraging words, but I didn't feel like much of a good person. I cried when I got a job offer. And the interview process is such artifice. You have to act as though you're on top of the world, all the while thinking, I need this job, I MUST have this job, you HAVE to offer it to me or my family is going down for the count. So when I said that I was really happy for you, that's the stuff I was thinking about. I know what it's like for that weight to be lifted, and I wish you all the best.
