I live in TX also, and don't really plan to leave. Have lived here for 50 years. I don't think Texas is unique, IMHO half the governors in the country as at least as bad as Perry. Maybe not as stupid, but as bad.

My comments apply to government at all levels. It's not there for your benefit except perhaps some local level gov't where the elected officials still have some real connection to their constituents.
