(146,308 posts)Normally, I simply do not participate in this type of thread at all. This time is an exception, due to the obscene personal attack that was left by a jury. When juries do not hide even that level of attack, it means that something is badly wrong. Grave-dancing threads, which is what this one is, generate the kind of personal conflict between DUers that creates a toxic environment, in my opinion. That is why I believe they should not be allowed to continue and should be locked by forum hosts.
The same stuff seems to happen whenever there is a PPR of a well-known DUer. People who liked the DUer and people who did not always seem to show up and get into ugly shouting matches. That's not good for DU, and sometimes results in even more people either losing their posting privileges temporarily or additional PPRs.
So, I don't like such threads. They're disruptive almost every time one is posted.
