Not many assholes at DU, a few, but newbies hardly ever get treated poorly around here unless they are trolls.

If someone does get nasty you will usually encounter a few others jump all over the person. Responses to your questions were and will be, answered directly. Occasionally you will find someone type, Google it, or some other snide comment, just ignore it and remember the name.

And your priorities are set properly, have fun with the grandkids.
