We embrace anti-intellectualism. The Palins are the anti-intellectual movement taken to its extreme.

We should never have catered to the lowest common denominator, because now we have a whole bunch of those people 'serving' us in the US Congress, and more coming if we don't get out the vote this November.

This whole thing reminds me of the old Beverly Hillbillies series I watched when I was a kid. Remember?
