3. Not sure about banning math because I can't find good confirmation for that.

Hard to see any political point in banning math and the but they have banned some things that weren't taught in the first place:

The new curriculum even went so far as to explicitly ban Charles Darwin's theory of evolution - although it was not previously taught in Iraqi schools.
