10. The Kansas voter is hard to nail down

We're a shoe in for the Republicans for presidential elections....yet we alternate parties with the governor's office.

Ergo....some voters (alot of voters) vote for both parties and alternate quite regularly.

Our last Democrat governor? Mark Parkinson...filled out Sebelius' term. Just a few years earlier, he was head of the Republican party in KS. And just a few weeks ago a hundred Republicans endorsed Davis. IOW there is a huge overlap with the parties.

So yes, some potential Davis voters were turned off by the story. Honestly, Brownback wouldn't the risk of dredging up old mud to sling, if he didn't think it would pay off. Old saws about not affecting likely voters are just like the notion that mud doesn't work - wishful thinking....which btw doesn't win an election.
