They are, in my opinion, being irresponsible. Here in the US, we are lucky. It is not an endemic disease that we have to worry about in the normal course of events. I think we do have a responsibility, because of the expertise of scientists and doctors in this country, to do what we can to help the people affected and see that it doesn't spread. I also think educating our own public is very important. This is where the media has been the real problem.
