If you weren't calling Will Pitt a racist, what's the point of even *mentioning* someone "telling watermelon jokes" in that response, much "rating it right up there" with Pitt?

To smear, that's why. To make an association with someone who tells watermelon jokes. There is no other reason for you to go there.

Seriously. What if you wrote a post, and someone was talking about it and said, "Yeah, 1StrongBlackMan's post was right up there with that guy who posted rape jokes, or wrote about defecating in public, or some other vile behavior *not connected with you at all.*

You deserved the hide. It was a despicable post invoking racism where there was no basis whatsoever to invoke racism. And you should be doubly embarrassed for having the gall to whine about the hide.
