Given that Nan hails from most liberal part of Florida (Broward & N. Miami-Dade Counties), chances are she'll be too liberal to win over enough to the moderately-conservative retirees in the central part of the state. Florida Democrats need to find a center-left Democrat to peel away enough of the I-4 corridor voters to win a statewide race in Florida. Sadly, the Democratic Party has been out of power for so long in Florida, the farm team is sorely lacking any well-known names (except for maybe Bud Chiles, who's made some gaffes over the past several years).
