(21,088 posts)My health has improved remarkably in the last year as a result. My BP is down 30 points, CRP (an inflammatory marker) had dropped by half, my weight is down 50 lb, no edema in my legs and feet, GERD is gone...
What was killing me was carbohydrates because I have metabolic syndrome. Plus my milk allergy from childhood appears to have lingered, so when I cut out milk and most cheese I improved even further.
The thing is, everyone is so eager to have an ideology to cling to that they tend to forget/ignore the fact that food tolerances are very individual. That applies to a lot of the paleos I've talked with, as well as the vegans.
There is no "one size fits all" diet. When people ask me what my diet is, I usually say, "It's one that's right for me."
