Relatives bid farewell to Akai Gurley, man fatally shot by NYPD rookie, during emotional funeral service in BrooklynThe emotional scene inside the Brown Memorial Baptist Church Saturday opened the funeral service for the 28-year-old who lost his life in a pitch-black public housing complex stairwell in East New York, Brooklyn. More than 150 mourners including several pols attended the funeral.

Gurleys younger brother, Malachi Palmer, tried to read a poem to the mass of mourners, but it was largely unintelligible. Palmer couldnt stop crying.
