Clearly I should have used the little thingy.

My point in making the comment is the absolutely insane twists and turns made in these situations to rationalize the irrational. In almost all cases, the police defense starts with the phrase "I was afraid that..." and by the time they're done, there's a big black demon in the story.

And there's always the apologist's refrain "but it wasn't about race". Bull f'ing chit. As I said in another thread, you think cops are doing to drop into some white suburb with a bunch of flash-bangs and assault rifles. Hell no.

All I was saying, and obviously doing it poorly, is that the apologist refrain in this case will be "Oh My...this couldn't have been about race...the stairwell was pitch black so the policeman may have been shooting a white guy". (right - in the projects...a white guy).

Sooooooo.....I should have put the sarcasm thingy in place. Nothing could justify this murder.
