the only reason a lot of these folk carry the "liberal" or "Progressive" banner is because the GOP forced them off the lifeboat. Back in the 80's and 90's, when their stock portfolios were filled to the brim, they were warm to Ron Ray Gun, because he promised them wealth without having to deal with the people their fathers taught them how to hate; the people with diferent skin or different genders. Now, the bills came due, especially when their "good job" that defined them went to Mexico or China, and when the banks of Wall Street became casinos that were less regulated than Las Vegas. Now they fly the porgressive flag because they think they have a god-given right to what THEY call "liberty" which is nothing more than the right to their old salary, the right to pontificate on the internet (with a side of porn), and their weed.

Not that there is one thing wrong with decent salaries, free internets, or the occasional weed. Certainly those items are a part of the agenda, but they are NOT the whole. Until the issues of both racism, and it's parent classism, are dealt with once and for all, everything else is just a whitewash of termite eaten fence. Those of us who are brown, different gendered, or who NEVER had a chance to get that good Union salary, are looking at these people crawling onto the lifeboat and saying "wait a minute, aren't you the people that tired to throw us off the boat back when Ray Gun and Bill Clintons were president?" They smiles and say "damned right, and if we want to win, we need to throw you bastards off the boat again!" Then of course, enter 2016, where the conservative democrats, without ONE CLUE, or ONE APOLOGY, immediately try to take the wheel, shove us in the galley to row their oars, and try to steer right back to the good old days (which means THEIR good old days.) Of course, the oligarchy sits back laughing, because they know that Ray Gun and yes, Clinton, were nothing more than the people then the figureheads of the ship of fools.
