(13,990 posts)the value of income equality one penny, especially as because, let's be honest, whatever gains minorties have made to power is NOT because Uncle Sam has had Ebenezr Scrooge like change of heart, but because they wanted our money. Even when Jackie Robinson was hired, the owner of the St. Louis Cardinals said "we sell beer to everyone" meaning he realized his dollars were made of our pennies. We cannot yield any front, because a table with one busted leg is a table with one busted leg. However, when some champion income equality over civil rights, what they are foten syaing is that "if we could get back the good old days, we would leave you in the dust." I can read Joe Beagant and enjoy his insight, but what the SOB never understood is that the goals was never to get back to the "goold old days" where minorities were used as the pavement for their roads, and that no, we do not owe any gratitude to them, because whatever they gave us, they also took from us, even if it was the smug knowledge that the worst of the White voices would blast over the best of the others.
