15. I would have never joined the Army

Dec 2014

I joined in 1997 and got out in 2007. Basically, things snowballed over the last 17ish years and my PTSD and depression got pretty out of control this last summer and I attempted suicide. I was locked up in a psych ward for 3.5 months and, since being released in October, my life really hasn't gotten any better.

The only thing I'm really happy about in my life is my kids. I really really really like my kids. Believe it or not, I also like my wife as well when she isn't busting my balls too much over my inability to get things done/function in daily life.

Apropos of nothing, but a great line from a song sung by Dave van Ronk HERVEPA Dec 2014 #1
