(62,325 posts)And please stop with the 'you can't get everything you want'. That is an insult again, to the intelligence of voters. They are not asking for 'everything they want'. They ARE asking that we do not get more Republican policies from the Dems we elect to stop those policies, war, protecting Wall St criminals, supporting neocon policies that we elected them to end.
All this 'you want ponies' etc, has taken its toll for the Dem Party. I don't know whose idea it was, though I can make an educated guess, to insult progressive voters without whom, obviously, they cannot win. Taking voters for granted is a bad idea.
Underestimating the intelligence of the electorate is also a bad idea.
We need new leadership in this party. Clearly the current leadership is out of touch with the voters whose votes they appear to believe they own.
Unions eg, are not happy and issued several warnings after the 2012 election which apparently went unheeded.
All voters want is to be represented by the people they elect to do so. What they see is that Corporate Interests are more important than theirs.
So, they are now taking matters into their own hands and beginning the process of choosing their own candidates, focusing their energies where they CAN have some influence, in their local communities and for a beginning, they are doing pretty well so far.
