many people self identify as Republicans. They are registered Republicans, just like I am a registered Democrat. Thus, I self-identify as a Democrat.

Thus, if somebody at FR titled a post "One reason I hate Democrats" they would basically be making the post read "One reason I hate people like hfojvt".

See, you are talking about the perfidity not of Republicans (like hfojvt's brother, or more especially his brother-in-law) but of Republican POLITICIANS.

Now, you may say, "but you ignorant fool, those Republican voters are supporting those Republican politicians". Yes, they are, and maybe that qualifies them somehow for their minimum daily allowance of hate. But I think it is kinda hard to convince them to stop supporting those Republican politicians by starting your argument (or your sales pitch) with "I hate you".

Hate Boehner, hate Ryan, hate Gingrich and Romney and Santorum (and even Paul, oh my). Hate Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity and even Tony Snow (even though he's dead). But don't hate the average Republican voter. Unless you would rather fight than convince them to switch.
