Another In A Series Of A DU Non-Poll Polls... Why Do YOU Recommend A Thread ??? [View all]

Last edited Wed Jan 28, 2015, 10:35 PM - Edit history (1)

I've been accused of posting FOR Recs... Which is hilarious because like most DUers, most of the time... they sink like a stone.

I've even had a poster or two keep records of my posts just to use them "against" me... they think.

There was a great debate a few years back whether we should get rid of the Unrec option.

I'm glad they did... especially in our current infighting.

But here's the thing...

Sometimes the Subject Header/Posted Paragraphs/Actual Article... might piss people off.

TO ME... I Rec a thread based on its importance to be seen and commented upon. And I miss many...

That's why I will Rec a thread way past its shelf-life.

I sometimes fear... that if the header/article sends a negative/sad/shameful message... people will not recommend it... even though it might be truly important, and needs to at least be seen.

And for me, at least... THAT is the point.

Whether it's Frat boys sexually harassing/raping women/kids accidentally shooting their parents with an unsecured and loaded gun, whether it's the rest of us being screwed by Republicans... Or Democrats...

I want to know... and I want others to see the info...

Therefore... I Rec.

I Apologize if I missed yours.
