Not saying this scenario has the faintest chance of happening, of course, but if it did, I doubt the right-wing physical response would go any further than a slight up-tick in the number of gun-humper shooting sprees for a few months.
Authoritarians are cowards if they don't have the support of the powers that be. I think the vast majority would rationalize an excuse for staying inside and polishing their guns.
