(2,157 posts)I can say without doubt that I am a better person for having been a part of the DU Universe growing up.
Through the good times and the darkest of hours DU has always been the one constant in my life.
I would not be the person I am today without not only DemocraticUnderground but the members who post here. It is from people like you that have taught me to listen and learn, especially when we disagree.
Many have took me under their wing(s) helping me out in ways that will be forever etched in my memory, others have taught me what at a young age I was yet to understand and that is that failue at some point in my life is inevitable, but giving up is simply unforgivable, and boy they were right.
I was told not only what I wanted to hear, but what I needed to know. So many of you challenged me to stand up and speak out for what is right, even if and when it wasn't popular to do so.
My debt to DU and the DU family is beyond measure. I am proud of them and this site. I was given an education here that I would have otherwise never been taught in a classroom or learned from any number of text books.
So I say simply enough, thank-you to all who have taught & tested me. Thank-You to the creaters of DU who never gave up even when the right wingers did everything in their power to disrupt & disrespect this site hoping that the Admins would simply call it a lost cause and shut it down.
I am proud to be a product of DU!
