I see this as symbolic. Others have seen it differently. I stand by my interpretation.
If you want to see African warrior headdresses, look up images of Shaka Zulu. The profile of the left figure is not that of a woman, and does not appear to represent Athena to me. It's clearly a robust man.
I suppose everyone will interpret it in their own way. I see it as a encoded image. You may see it differently.
