When I close my doors at the end of the day I am not concerned about my neighbors bed room activity or the lack of activity. If two people are happy together and there isn't any violence I am happy for them.
Some of the religious right people told my niece to return to a marriage where there was violence against her and her children, that it is wrong to divorce. She did not follow their instruction.
I am sure many learn from their parents to be bigoted but as an adult we must make our own way, form our own opinion. Yes, I have evolved. It was actually easy.
