but I don't agree with the last part. Bibi and Israel's seeming undue influence has more to do with current internal US politics rather than the state of Israel or the entire Middle East for that matter. It's old, cold war politics refashioned to undermine President Obama no matter the consequences. Bibi and Israel are useful for that right now. They should be worried about when they will inevitably cease to be useful. Many Republicans in Congress, outside the Religo-nut caucus, don't really give a rat's ass about Israel. In the grand scheme of US interests, they're really more trouble than their worth. And after all, since when has the democracy thing had any real weight in US foreign policy?
