1. Borders is out of business everywhere.

Our local Borders store is now something called "Books-a-Million," a fundamentalist-right-wing operation, with the sort of book selection you'd expect in such a place. I confess I went in there a couple of times, just for a trash mystery novel, but pretty much stay out on principle.
