7. You Can't Win

My neighbors are like that. They were wishing Obama would die, so we could be rescued from the huge tragedy of having a black guy as president. They also believe in stuff like the "sovereign citizen" theories, and God-only-knows what else. The other day, I was pumping gas at the Costco, and some guy next to me was blabbing in a loud voice about how Obama was sending us all straight to hell, so I said, "Really? I just filled my tank for twenty bucks, and it cost me forty when Bush was prez." He just turned red and sputtered. He'll probably hunt me down and shoot me. I usually don't say anything, but sometimes I just can't resist.
