(37,549 posts)"scoundrel" is a term used by Victorian women fanning themselves and giving advice to debutatntes. Think Rhett Butler.
"Teenager" is a more modern term, but I admit I am uncomfortable at the implication of such a term. Historically, Black people have been infantilized by usage that does not reflect their age and position.
In the 1950s South, Black married women were not addressed as "Mrs." by White people, nor "Ma'am." They were called by their first names, or pet nicknames, or by a generic name that reflected their employment.....Cook, Nanny, Maid. Black men, regardless of age were not addressed as "Mr." but were addressed as "boy" or whatever nickname the White person chose.
I cannot imagine that any DUer would knowingly address a Black man with teenage daughters as a teenager himself. Certainly no one is ignorant of American history to that extent.
