(9,645 posts)it will stop generic drugs from being produced as it lengthens the patents protections timeframe...but it will not just affect poor countries
interesting story...20 years ago my daughter had a connective tissue disease, they treated her with an experimental treatment using a generic drug (predisone) it was about 4 bucks a month...it worked then they found you can treat all kinds of things with it
arthritis,ms,crohns disease,acme...there are several patented varieties now , humara was the first and it runs over 4500 bucks a month...yea it is in liquid form,you take a shot every 2 weeks instead of a pill everyday but basically it is the same drug that we had success with for 4 bucks a month
i think this was the med will's wife was denied thru the aca
imagine the lack of compassion it took to take a 4 dollar miraculous cure (her specialists' words) and change it into a $4500/month nightmare
